A life style session is not your traditional family photos. It is about capturing real life at home with the people that you love.
Zach and Ingrid
"I first met zach when I was 16. We were both invited to a fundraising social that a mutual friend was a part of. We barley even spoke.Over the following months we became friends. His sense of humor and contagious joy won me over and we began to date. Within 6 months I knew he was "it" for me. Experiencing life together and being a part of each others great and not so great life moments have been a blessing. I'm excited for the adventures we have ahead , and to discover you as a father to our beautiful son in this new chapter of life."
A few weeks ago I did a maternity shoot for this little guy's parents! I was excited to hear from Justin and Zoe that their little bundle of joy had arrived! Liam is such a beautiful baby and it was not hard at all to take these beautiful snaps! I hope you all enjoy!
Maternity Session with Jess
This girl is a real beauty. We went to elementary school a long time ago and re connected. Jessica is also a photographer so we decided to go shooting this past summer. I couldn't help but get cute photos of her bump!
The Mcfaddin Family
This photo shoot was one of my favourites! I loved the fact that Sara wanted me to come over in the morning when the kids were just waking up, and getting ready to make breakfast! There is nothing better than a true life style shoot. Nora and Josh started by making breakfast crepes , then after breakfast we all went out for a walk in the neighbourhood. Sara had taken the time to make beautiful floral crowns . Everything about this shoot was so perfect!
The Plett Family
I can not believe it has nearly been a year since I got to spend a afternoon with the Plett family.
We took a walk to the neighbourhood park close by , blew some bubbles and had a fun time playing!
I love taking photos that include candid moments!
Hope you enjoy!
The Brooke Family
What’s the secret to taking candid family photos? Only 3 things!
….Sometimes it can be a little tough taking photos of young families.
Sometimes after a shoot, I have come home and not loved my photos, as other shoots I have done. However, I LOVE these photos! Its captured moments like these that I tell myself, Ahh this is why I love what I do! There is something about taking photos, in a natural environment , with a family that is having fun together that takes the pressure off and creates beautiful images.
The first thing you have to do is relax, and the fun will follow!
This Sunday, the Brook’s and I went to Birds Hill park, and just hung out. I decided to take the posed photos first, as, usually by the end of the shoot children are done taking photos and ready to go home!( When doing any photoshoot , Its important to get posed photos as these are usually the ones that get used for Christmas cards, etc.)
Personally I am in love with light! I chase it! I look for it everywhere! When I find it, I get my subjects to go in an area and I get them to have fun, or I will pose them in a way that is just perfectly behind the light, and I just take photos.
The second thing you have to do is be ready!
Remember that even when you pose kids , they will usually move and not be in the exact pose or area you want them in, but thats okay! Thats when the best candid moments happen! Remember that as a photographer, you can move your hiney to properly frame a photo! Be quick you don’t want to miss the shot!
